A Letter to My Dog in Heaven
Dear Lassie,
I hope this letter finds you wagging your tail and frolicking in the eternal meadows of heaven. It’s been a while since I’ve written to you, but I’ve missed you so much that I couldn’t help but pour out my heart in this letter. I wanted to share with you the many wonderful memories we’ve created together, and how you’ve touched my life in ways that no other being ever could.
When I first brought you home, I was a young and naive college student. You were just a small, scruffy puppy with big, expressive eyes that seemed to understand everything. You became my best friend, my confidant, and my constant companion. We spent countless hours together, running through the park, playing fetch, and snuggling on the couch. You were always there to comfort me when I was sad, to celebrate with me when I was happy, and to keep me company when I was lonely.
One of my favorite memories was when we went on our annual summer trip to the beach. The sun was shining, the waves were crashing, and you were bounding around with pure joy. We would play fetch until we were both too tired to move, and then we would lay side by side, soaking up the sun and the warmth of each other’s presence. Those moments were priceless, and I often think back to them with a smile on my face.
