How to Clear Recent Destinations on iPhone Maps

If you’re an iPhone user who frequently uses the Maps app, you might have noticed that the app keeps track of your recent destinations. While this feature can be convenient for quickly accessing places you’ve visited, it can also clutter your map view and compromise your privacy. If you’re looking to clear recent destinations on iPhone Maps, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you out.

Step 1: Open the Maps App

The first step is to open the Maps app on your iPhone. You can find the app on your home screen, represented by a blue compass icon.

Step 2: Navigate to the Recents Section

Once the Maps app is open, swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the search bar. In the search bar, you’ll see a “Recents” tab. Tap on it to view your recent destinations.

Step 3: View and Clear Recent Destinations

In the Recents section, you’ll see a list of places you’ve visited. To clear a specific destination, tap on the “i” (information) icon next to the place. This will open a new screen with details about the destination. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap on “Clear.”

Step 4: Clear All Recent Destinations

If you want to clear all recent destinations at once, tap on the “Clear All” button at the top of the Recents section. A confirmation prompt will appear, asking you to confirm your decision. Tap “Clear All” to proceed.

Step 5: Manage Privacy Settings

To prevent recent destinations from being saved in the future, you can adjust your privacy settings. Go to your iPhone’s Settings app, then scroll down and tap on “Maps.” Under the “Maps” section, you’ll find an option for “Recent Destinations.” Toggle this option off to disable the feature.

By following these steps, you can easily clear recent destinations on iPhone Maps and keep your map view clutter-free. Remember that this feature is designed to help you find your way back to places you’ve visited, so it’s up to you whether you want to keep it enabled or not.
